![]() The thing is, adjusting amps volume rather then guitars original input volume will give you a lack of consistency, you def want to set up the proper gain staging while recording your pickups for teaming. You can change your amps volume and adjust pedals before recording using these steps knowing you will have a great palette to work with Incase you want to reamp your signal at a later time. So if you want the best possible outcome send your guitar to a dedicated di, mute di On interface and route do track in daw to reamp box and set your base tone while in reamp mode so you don’t need to do much mixing if any after recording but safeguard your sound in case you need or want to reamp. ![]() If you get your guitars signal sounding good in reamp mode it will sound closer to the original signal your reamping if you need to reamp and use a different mic to record your cab or diff speakers, so why not just set your tone while in di mode so you know for certain you are set ? I’ve tried it before where I would be lazy and set my tone up with the just the di and went to reamp and noticed my tone sounded thinner and less articulate because I didn’t adjust my pedals and amp to sound good after the pickups have already gone thru the ad,da conversion. I notice I get the best results when I can match the di’s output directly to the output of the reamp box by playing my guitar in reamp mode. ![]() It should be fairly easy plug Gtr straight in> adjust amp volume to loudness, then Reamp> and get kinda close to same loudness.īut, it's NOT should be able to get amp MUCH louder IF needed. The thing is, adjusting amps volume rather then guitars original input volume will give you a lack of consistency, you def want to set up the proper gain staging while recording your pickups for teaming. Basically set your tone to sound good while your in reamp mode then you will know for certain when you do reamp your base tone is the correct level, and you can change amp or effects without worrying. Does anyone have any good ideas on the best way to calibrate/match the reamp output levels as compared to the level of plugging the guitar straight in? Any help would be appreciated.ĭAW->Radial ProRMP->AmpWhat you want to do is make inmute the track you plan to reamp and play so your direct signal is being reamped while your playing, You want to match your volume and tone as if your plugged directly into a pedal setup or amp, I’m using the redeye 3D phantom by little labs and when I record I keep the reamped signal going from my di to the reamp box and that’s how I record so I know the sound I have will be exactly the same as it is while I’m recording, you have to take into consideration that there will be a variation in your tone because your going to a di, thru to your interface then back out into your reamp box then into your amp or pedal setup. So I'm looking for a process of how to match those 2 levels. My issue is that when I reamp, my level going out is not the same as when I plug my guitar in, even though the ProRMP is cranked all the way.
